8/21/07 So, my very first flight was very exciting. I could barely believe that I was actually on my way to Spain. As I had never flown before, I didn't really know whether or not I would sleep on the overnight flight. I didn't. But that was all right. I had a window seat with quite a view, and I wouldn't have missed the sunrise over the Atlantic above the clouds. I saw Spain for the first time at about 7:30 local time. After flying over the green of the eastern US, the brownness of Spain was a bit surprising. But, I'm finding Spain to be beautiful in its own way. Maybe this is what the Midwest looks like in the States. It's dry here, but the temperature is wonderful. My first day here we had clear skies with a high of 74 degrees (Fahrenheit by the way I'm still getting used to not using the English system).

To continue briefly about the weather, it makes the sunsets here amazing. On Friday I found a rock on the hill that overlooks the city from the east. Though the pictures don't really do it justice, the richness of color in the sunset was absolutely astounding.
