100_1753_resize9/8/07 So, I'm still catching everyone up, but I'm finally at the part everyone seems to want to hear so much about: my day at fiesta with the bulls. I'll have to backtrack about two days when I finish this message, but these are the pictures everyone is excited about. So here we go. Saturday morning was the running of the bulls. I knew seven or eight of the guys who ran. They asked me if I wanted to join them, but I was under strict instructions from Mom and others not to. I watched it from the Almecs' balcony which overlooks the main street. 100_1759_resizeThis was good for a couple of reasons: 1) My pictures weren't hampered by the crowd and 2) One of the last bulls went a little crazy and charged the fence several times. One of the men (on the right of the photo in orange on the fence) ended up climbing on to the roof. The bull broke through and was out in the streets for a little while, but that was further down the course and I d idn't see it. Their balcony is one of the best places to watch the run in the whole city, it's also the safest. That afternoon, I went to the bull fight. People asked me if I had had fun, which isn't really the word for it. However, it was a cultural experience I'm glad I've had and don't need to repeat. There were the normal matadors and then there were two mounted matadors on horseback. They rode incredibly well. There were four fights and they each lasted about half an hour before t100_1775_resizehe bull falls. I won't go into much detail on what100_1777_resize actually goes on (most, if not all of you, know). These pictures however, were neat and not overly bloody. It was a neat experience and quite Spanish.
